2022 Ford Escape

The 2022 Escape is slightly wider, longer, and lower than the 2021 model, and its lower beltline allows for windows that are bigger, enabling exceptional visibility. It's also lighter than ever before, providing greater agility than previous models. The Escape is available in five different trim levels: S, SE, SE Sport, SEL, and Titanium.

The Escape S and SE come standard with front-wheel drive and a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine which produces 180 horsepower and is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Titanium trim comes standard with all-wheel-drive and a 2.0-liter engine.

The brakes in the gas and hybrid versions of the 2022 Ford Escape are firm and the steering is extremely precise. The strut front and multilink rear suspension manage well around corners.

The throttle response of the boosted 2.0-liter engine offers a driving experience that other SUV drivers will envy. Models with the 1.5-liter engine have a towing capacity of 2,000 pounds, and buyers who opt for the 2.0-liter engine ups the towing capacity to 3,500 pounds!

All trim levels offer five drive modes that drivers can select with the console button. The drive modes include normal, eco, sport, slippery, and snow/sand. While front-wheel drive is standard on all trims minus the non-hybrid Titanium, all-wheel-drive is still an option. Even if you do choose to all-wheel-drive, the AWD Disconnect feature allows you to disconnect all-wheel-drive when it's not needed to save on fuel costs.

The Escape features a large, spacious cabin with plenty of legroom and large windows. The cargo area provides ample storage with 34 cubic feet of space. The rear seat can slide forward and back for additional room. It also includes an abundance of innovative technology, including the available Sync 3, Waze technology that shares information on the best routes to take, and FordPass Connect with 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.

The S offers a six-way manual driver seat, four-way manual passenger seat, a six-speaker sound system, and the Ford Co-Pilot360 Standard Features. The SE features a 10-way power driver seat with front row heat, four-way manual passenger seat, intelligent access with push-button start, LED signature lighting, and heated side-view mirrors. With the Sport version, you get everything in the SE along with a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

The SEL trim comes standard with a heated steering wheel and remote start system. Meanwhile, the premium trim - the Titanium - comes with a six-way power passenger seat, 10-speaker B&O sound system, along with ambient lighting.

The entire suite of safety technology is standard in every 2022 Ford Escape, including blind-spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keeping assistance. Other safety features, such as steering aid for evasive maneuvers, adaptive cruise control, and automated parking capability, are available as options.
